I build software that keeps working when real data shows up.
That sentence is 60 characters and 60 bytes: plain ASCII, the only kind of text every system gets right. My surname is not.
My name, three ways
My surname is a small, permanent test suite.
- As written, in UTF-8ŞenyüzC59E656E79C3BC7A8 bytes
- The same bytes, read as Windows-1252ŞenyüzC59E656E79C3BC7A8 characters from the same 8 bytes
- With the accents strippedSenyuz53656E79757A6 bytes
Same person, three strings. The first is correct, the second is a bug, the third is what most forms turn it into without asking. It is why I read encodings, locales and edge cases before I trust a happy path.
What I work on
- Backend services and APIs
- Data pipelines and integrations
- Web frontends that load fast
- Developer tooling and internal platforms
Background
I am a software engineer working across the stack, with most of my time on backend services, APIs and the data behind them.
I like systems that are boring in production: clear schemas, idempotent jobs, logs you can read at 3 a.m. On the frontend I care about speed, and about the details people only notice when they are missing.
